Crusader Kings II is taking an odd turn with the upcoming Sunset Invasion DLC. It seems the Aztecs have launched a per-emptive counterattack and are on their way to Europe.
The what-if scenario is an interesting turn for the series that has mostly played on historically accurate events and characters. The game from Paradox Development Studios will be the first time the developers have ever brought a fantasy scenario into their games.
Sunset Invasion will bring some savage scenarios for the Aztecs to appease their apparently very angry gods. This will include some Apocalypto-style heart offerings and Mesoamerican warriors armed with creative weapons and exotic diseases. Should be interesting.
Crusader Kings II: Sunset Invasion will be released on Nov. 15 and will sell for a modest $4.99.
